Things With Feathers is a short narrative that challenges the cultural silence black women have created as a coping method for sexual assault. The struggle one girl faces keeping her family together while disregarding her own well-being is illustrated through the eyes of 10-year-old Aaliyah. The project also delves into a wider range of topics such as mental health and family values. This film has won several awards, Shreveport Urban Film Festival Grand Prize Winner, Best Cinematography, and Best Actress, and is screening at the 29th New Orleans Film Festival.
When a woman undergoes a frightening transition, her vigilant five-year-old daughter must decide between saving her or protecting herself in this haunting tale of inheritance, daughterhood, and demons. Blood Runs Down has been screened across the country, Urban World Film Festival in New York City, New Orleans Film Festival, the Holly Shorts Monthly Screening Series in Hollywood, the Austin Film Festival, and recently won Best Psychological Horror at the Women in Horror Film Festival.
